The Future of All Believers

The Thessalonian church began to worry about the destiny of those Christians who had died. Uninformed, either they did not comprehend, were unsure, or their assumptions were not changed by what they had been taught about a future resurrection of the dead. Paul does not want them to be ignorant, nor should they sorrow like unbelievers— with no hope of seeing their loved ones again. Christians have a certain future hope: the resurrection from the dead.
